Daniel Dale

Based in London, Daniel is a screenwriter who started out developing and editing feature film projects for directors including Nic Roeg, Lynne Ramsay and Carol Morley. He also developed projects with Michael Man and Steven Soderbergh as director / producer.

Daniel started out in screenwriting with the short film A STUDY AFTER CRUEL INTENTIONS. Directed by Saam Farmhand – who has directed videos for Mick Jagger and Alexander McQueen – the film was made for the band, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO.

Currently in pre-production is feature film IN SAND AND BLOOD (now re-titled AMERICAN COMMERCE) which Daniel wrote. To be directed by Saul Dibb (The Duchess) and produced by Luc Roeg (We Need to Talk About Kevin). The film is based on the true life story of Captain James Riley, whose ship wrecked off the coast of the Sahara desert in 1815 before he and his crew embarked on an epic and terrifying journey, taking them thousands of miles to modern-day Morocco as slaves to their Bedouin captors.

Daniel also re-wrote and script-edited feature film JET TRASH (Dir. Charles Henri Belleville) premiered at the 2016 Edinburgh Film Festival.
