How To Train Your Dragon 3 breaks $55.5 million in US Opening Weekend

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World opened to $55.5 million in the US last weekend. This sets the third and final instalment of the series as the biggest box office success of the franchise.

Produced by DreamWorks Animation and based on the book series by Cressida Cowell, the film follows Hiccup and Toothless on their final journey as they travel through a hidden world in order to overcome a new enemy.

It has grossed more than $281 million worldwide so far and holds the title of the most successful opening weekend of the year to date, surpassing Glass, Alita: Battle Angel and Lego Movie 2.
