Suzanne Barton

Suzanne Barton writes and illustrates children’s fiction and non-fiction.

Suzanne’s debut children’s picture book The Dawn Chorus was published by Bloomsbury in 2014 and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. It was subsequently selected by BookTrust for the Bookstart Treasure Pack and was read by Eve Myles as a CBeebies Bedtime Story. Her second book for Bloomsbury, Robin’s Winter Song, was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Award. These were followed by The Butterfly Dance and The TinyWing Fairies (both published by Bloomsbury).

Suzanne illustrated A Guide to Sisters (written by Paula Metcalf), published by Random House in the US. She is currently illustrating a non-fiction book, We Are A Garden, for Egmont. Her work has been translated into several languages.

Suzanne has two grown-up daughters and lives in Oxford and New York.
