Jo Schofield and Fiona Danks are on a mission to inspire children, young people and families to spend more time outside, discovering the wonders of the natural world.
Their nine books, all published by Frances Lincoln, are packed with practical and fun ideas to tempt children outdoors, so that the wild world can weave its magic on them.
Fiona Danks has an ecology degree from Edinburgh University and a PGCE in Rural and Environmental Science from Bath College of Higher Education. She has worked in environmental education, for the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, and she is Director of the Trust for Oxfordshire’s Environment (TOE2), a charity which supports and funds environmental projects.
Jo Schofield studied psychology at Exeter University and worked for an educational psychologist in London. She then became a commercial photographer in Australia, and on her return to the UK worked for national magazines, including Country Living. She has worked in primary schools, applying her creative knowledge to the classroom with children aged 6-9 years.
The Den Book was published in May 2016.
