James is from Newry in the north of Ireland. Recent work has appeared in Banshee, bath magg, Poetry London, Poetry Ireland Review and The Poetry Review. He is editor of the upcoming anthology ‘The New Frontier: Writing From the Irish Border’ to be published by New Island Books in October 2021, and he was recently shortlisted for the White Review Poet’s Prize. In 2019 he was a recipient of the Eric Gregory Award.
