Devi Sridhar is Professor and Chair of Global Public Health at the University of Edinburgh. She has worked extensively in policy including as an adviser to the Scottish, UK and German governments, to the World Health Organization, UNESCO, UNICEF, and numerous NGOs. She has emerged as one of our clearest and calmest commentators on the Covid-19 crisis, and is now preparing her first book for a general audience on the role that politics plays in our handling of such pandemics.
