Jessica was previously a Director at Toby Eady Associates and then an agent at The Marsh Agency each for ten years. Her writers have won or been shortlisted for many major prizes including the Booker, Samuel Johnson now Baille Gifford, Boardman Tasker, Children’s Book of the Year at the British Book Awards, Costa, Cundhill History Prize, Guardian First Book Award, National Book Award, Waterstones Book of the Year, Nayef Al-Rodhan Prize for Global Cultural Understanding, Wainwright, Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year, Somerset Maugham, Dolman, Greenaway and the E.M Forster Award for Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Jessica represents a diverse range of international literary fiction, some commercial historical fiction and narrative non-fiction. South East Asia, Japan, Africa and the Middle East are areas of particular interest; she lived in Mumbai for five years. She’s long worked with memoir, perhaps its the new novel, and books that explore multiple genres; science, natural history, gender, landscape, cultural and current affairs and the way these subjects impact on our daily lives, poetic, awake, activist, environmentally aware writing. Jessica represents many prize winning authors, artists and journalists including Rob Cowen, Stanley Donwood, Charles Foster, Jay Griffiths, Paul Kingsnorth, Emma Jane Kirby, Julia Lovell, Robert Macfarlane, Jackie Morris, Ben Myers, Fred Pearce, Merlin Sheldrake, Lola Shoneyin and Joshua Virasami.
