High Wind in Java

Robin Mariner is looking forward to a restful holiday aboard the state-of-the-art sailing cruiser Tai Fun exploring the romantic Java Sea. Her hopes are shattered when she realizes that her husband Richard is actually here to buy the revolutionary vessel, and the High Wind cruising company of which she is flag ship. But Richard's own plans are in turn thrown awry by the arrival aboard of Nic Greenbaum, the legendary Texan multi-millionaire eco-warrior: one of the few men able to outmanoeuvre him. Nic too wants Tai Fun, and seems willing to play almost any dirty game to get her.They begin a complex hand of financial and emotional blackjack when another, even more unexpected, element is added. The tiny island princedom of Pulau Baya, Tai Fun's final port of call, is torn back into the Stone Age by a series of unexplained, overwhelming disasters which even charismatic Prince Sailendra cannot control. Helpless and desperate the islanders go out to pirate and pillage. And the first vessel to appear over their horizon is the Tai Fun...
