Julie Bertagna, Tim Bowler, Tim Lott, Geraldine McCaughrean, Michael Morpugo and Jenny Valentine have all been longlisted for the 2008 Carnegie Award, and illustrators Adrian Reynolds and Nick Sharratt are both on the Kate Greenaway longlist.

The shortlist for each Medal will be announced on 18 April 2008 with the winning titles announced at the prestigious Awards Ceremony on 26 June. The winner will receive a golden medal and £500 worth of books to donate to a library of their choice.
