Mary Woronov

Titles: Blind Love, Niagara, Snake, Swimming Underground
Category: Fiction
Agent:Lizzy Kremer

Accidentally born in the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, Mary Woronov grew up in New York and attended Cornell University. Following her first love, painting, she became a part of Warhol's Silver Factory in the late 60s, where she acted in several films, including CHELSEA GIRLS. Moving to LA, she continued to support herself by acting in over 73 Hollywood films, the best of which, EATING RAOUL, ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL and, more recently, LOONEY TUNES, have earned her the dubious title of cult-queen. She also directed and wrote three half-hour TV shows for "Women" on Showtime. Now Mary teaches graduate fiction at Otis College of Art & Design and lives with her dog. Besides painting and showing in LA, Mary is the author of six books. SNAKE and NIAGARA are both novels and BLIND LOVE is a collection of short stories about what people call love. SWIMMING UNDERGROUND is a fictional memoir about her time with the Warhol group and EYE WITNESS TO WARHOL is a collection of essays on questions she has grown tired of answering. WAKE FOR THE ANGELS is a coffee table book of her paintings. She has also written pieces for Buzz Magazine, Film Comment and Nest Magazine. She is working on her third novel.

Blind Love

Category: Fiction
UK Publisher: Serpent's Tail
UK Publication Date: 14/02/04

From the euphoric moments of first love to the last desperate acts of jaded sex, Blind Love captures the essence of love in the twenty-first century. The insane, the callous predator, the over-cautious, the egotistical, and the very brave, all meet their match in Blind Love. Some fight, some surrender, and others try to hide, but no one escapes. In each story, a life is changed forever by the uncontrollable force of love. The success of her novels Snake and Niagara have established Mary Woronov as the surreal chronicler of Los Angeles life. The literary counterpart of David Lynch, she is a unique voice in US fiction.
