Caroline Uff

Caroline Uff was born in 1967 in Kowloon general hospital, Hong Kong. Whilst she was still a baby her family moved back to live in Shropshire, England. A further move to Yorkshire followed and this is where Caroline still lives. From a very early age she enjoyed drawing and making things out of old cornflake packets and cellotape. Although, disappointingly, never reaching the dizzy heights of winning a Blue Peter badge, Caroline decided that a career in Art was for her.

In 1991 she left Edinburgh College of Art with a degree and a postgraduate diploma. She had entered college with the idea of becoming a graphic designer but soon opted for illustration instead. Caroline’s series of picture books for very young children featuring LULU established her as one of the bright new talents in the children’s book world and more recent titles include ME AND MY BROTHER and an adorable series of novelty books about dressing up for Campbell Books.

This is a rich and riotous romp of a book, that takes you through a toddler's hectic and action-packed day. The 99 of the title refers to the 99 activities that the child undertakes, and the overall feel of the book is one of bustling fun, with lots and lots of detail to look out for and pore over. It's also a warm, family oriented look at daily life, encompassing all the little dramas and events that make each day so interesting. Featuring the sort of busy composition that little children love, there will be hidden things to find, things to count, and extra little storylines involving the family pets to look out for too.
