Tammy Mendelson

Tammy is a born and bred Londoner, and as the daughter of a comedy writer and an art therapist had a creatively charged and very silly childhood. She graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with a BA in Acting in 2000, and has since worked as both a stage and television actress, and, simultaneously, as a performing arts and music teacher both in schools and privately. She, needless to say, spends the majority of her time occupying other worlds, and is not the biggest advocate of reality!

Tammy has been telling stories since childhood and her current work focuses on curious, fantastical exaggerations of our world for the youngest audience. She enjoys writing in rhythms and sounds that are exciting to hear and fun to play with. Her uninhibited students consistently inspire her.

When not writing, teaching or performing, Tammy can be found at the theatre or stuck in a good book, talking incessantly, travelling or in the pool (not her own, sadly).
