Lenya Samanis

Lenya Samanis was born in London to English and Greek parents. She studied English at Royal Holloway, University of London, before taking an MA in philosophy at the same institution. After three years in Tokyo, she began a Ph.d on Samuel Beckett before changing course and enrolling on the Creative Writing MA at Birkbeck.

She was one of the three writers shortlisted for the New Writing Ventures award for Fiction in 2006, and has recently received support from the Arts Council for YEN, her first novel.
