Ruth Jones is the co-writer (with James Corden) of the acclaimed comedy series GAVIN & STACEY, which was launched on BBC 3 in 2007 and also broadcast on BBC 2. The second series was broadcast earlier this year on BBC 3 and they are now working on the GAVIN & STACEY Christmas special.
GAVIN & STACEY has received numerous awards, including Best Multichannel Programme in the Broadcast Awards, Best Comedy at the South Bank Show Awards, Best New Comedy (Comedy Awards) and the Sky + Award for Best Programme at the BAFTA Television awards. Ruth and James won Best Female/Male Newcomer at the Comedy Awards for their portrayals of Nessa and Smithy in the show.
Ruth is currently working on two new drama projects for the BBC and has previously written for several dramas including FAT FRIENDS and THE CHASE. Her acting work includes NIGHTY NIGHT, SAXONDALE and LITTLE BRITAIN.
