Half Indian, half German, Robin was brought up a Londoner. He studied Law at Nottingham University but gave up what might have been a sensible career to form a theatre company, aged 22. While working in an old people’s home, Robin continued to write, direct and produce plays at the Hampstead Pentameters. His work attracted the interest of Tony Dinner, then head of the BBC Script Unit, who invited him to join a workshop of fledgling writers. Commissions for television soon followed and Robin has contributed prolifically ever since to television, radio, the stage and cinema. He now lives near Winchester with his wife and son.
