A graduate of the MA in Television Scriptwriting at De Montfort University run by Jim Hill and Christopher Walker, Michelle has had the opportunity to build a varied portfolio ranging from historical sitcom to fantasy sci-fi. Her 2x60m legal drama, The Decision Makers, was mentored by Barbara Machin and was awarded the highest distinction in the history of the course.
Her first stage play, “2084”, was performed by a youth theatre company in late 2007 and received positive responses from audiences and local press. A further run of performances is in the pipeline and she has since been commissioned to write a second project, currently in development.
She attended the 2007 Casualty storylining conference and wrote an article on the show which was published in Scriptwriter Magazine in 2008.
Michelle was shortlisted from almost 500 applicants to become one of the final interviewed candidates for the 2008 BBC Writers' Academy and is now being considered for a place on the both the Doctors and Casualty show-specific Academies. She was also shortlisted for the 2008 Red Planet Prize from over 1,000 applicants.
Michelle has recently had an original returning drama series optioned by Hat Trick and is developing a number of other projects for both television and radio which have received significant interest from independent producers and broadcasters.
