A recent graduate of the MA in Television Scriptwriting at De Montfort University run by Jim Hill and Christopher Walker, Michelle has had the opportunity to build a varied portfolio ranging from sitcom to fantasy sci-fi to legal drama.
“The Decision Makers”, a drama set in the world of immigration and asylum law, is based on her experiences working at the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal – the only place where Judges still make life or death decisions, and a place where mistakes happen all too often, sometimes with tragic consequences. The project was mentored by Barbara Machin and was awarded the highest mark given by the assessment panel to date.
In 2007 she was commissioned to write an original play for a youth theatre group in Rutland. “2084” was performed in July to enthusiastic response from audiences and local press, and she has since been invited back to work on a second original project.
She attended the 2007 Casualty storylining conference and has written an article on writing for the show which is to be published in Scriptwriter Magazine in 2008.
She is looking forward to new challenges and is already busy developing a number of new projects.
