Jenny Lees-Spalding has long been interested in education and, particularly, the individual students and consumers of the system. Coming from a naval family, she attended many different schools including a state primary in Scotland, naval school in Malta and boarding schools in England, before going on to study at Oxford University. She worked for many years at what is now a part of London Metropolitan University and is now a governor of Ryde School in the Isle of Wight, and works with students at City University, the Open University and occasionally the LSE.
Together with Klaus Boehm, she edits THE STUDENT BOOK, the leading one-stop guide for those applying to university, published annually. They are also co-editors of THE ALTERNATIVE CAREERS BOOK, a guide for those wishing to work for themselves, and the annual GUIDE TO INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS.
