The follow up to Gillian Galbraith's wonderful debut, BLOOD IN THE WATER.
Detective Sergeant Alice Rice, whom the Sunday Express have called ‘the New Rebus’, is called in when the body of a retired Sheriff is discovered in his grand house in the New Town of Edinburgh. The search leads her to an unfamiliar world where wind farm developers and protestors face each other with daggers drawn and millions of pounds at stake. Just as Alice manages to track down the Sheriff’s reclusive and secret lover an apparent hit-and-run makes her sure she is on the trail of a double murderer.
Gillian Galbraith’s beautifully written novel takes in all manner of Edinburgh residents and gives a wonderfully atmospheric sense of the city and its surrounding countryside.
Praise for BLOOD IN THE WATER:
'This is a vivid and exciting story, set against the background of
Edinburgh's legal and medical circles. There is not a dull page from start
to finish.' Alexander McCall Smith
