Caroline Anstey went to The Surrey Institute of Art and Design where illustration became her specialised area. She graduated with a Higher Diploma 1st with Hons in Graphic Design. At the End of Year Exhibition, she received her first commission to write and illustrate a children's book for a publisher of photographic books.

Living in a beautiful part of the Sussex countryside surrounded by wildlife has been the inspiration for much of Caroline's work and with a keen interest in photography, fine detailed illustrations are a speciality. This is style is seen in MOLES CAN DANCE, a picture book that was successfully adapted for Channel 4 and was also selected for the VI Premi Internacional Catalonia D'illustratio in Spain, when the book and illustrations also went on a travelling exhibition of Europe.

Having initially worked in gouache, Caroline now works in watercolour and adapts her style to be more versatile. She tries to portray a blend of wit and charm in most of her work and from freestyle through to intimate detailed illustrations, her work spreads across the range from early readers to picture books to black and white line work for older fiction.

Caroline belongs to the Association of Illustrators and other areas of work she has covered include greeting cards and packaging design illustrations for Marks & Spencer. Over the last few years she has published a series of 'Little Mouse' storybooks for Templar and is currently working on the latest, SAY HELLO LITTLE MOUSE.
