Richard Crawford is a novelist and screenwriter, best known for the feature film The Abduction Club, set in Ireland in the late eighteenth century (Pathe 2002). HIn 2004 and 2006 he took part in the Moonstone International Screenwriting Lab as a participant, with the feature scripts McCarthy’s War / Retribution and The Dirty War.
In 2004 he established SCREENWRITERS.INK, a Belfast-based screenwriters group and he has also provided script development support for the NI Screen/UKFC “Short Steps” and “Digital Shorts” short film programmes, mentoring emerging screenwriters.
He recently directed two short films, Jogged, and On The Road Home, both produced with the support of Northern Ireland Screen.
Most recently, he has been working on a screenplay The Original with Third Bar Films. He has also developed, alongside with Spence Wright and Chris Patterson, the fantasy TV series Hy Brasil.
