Ben Faulks

Ben is best known as “Mr Bloom” from CBeebies RTS award winning series, Mr Bloom’s Nursery – which he also created and wrote for. He has written numerous shows for theatre and is now working on new children’s television ideas.

2015 Mr Bloom – Munchkin / BBC Major UK Stage Tour Script commissioned 2013 The Signing Detective – Cbeebies Script commissioned 2012 Mr Blooms Nursery Series 3 – CBeebies Re-commissioned for 22 x 22 minute shows. Wrote 10 Episodes. Mr Bloom – Get Set Grow – CBeebies Stage tour (writer) 2011 Mr Blooms Nursery Series 2 – Cbeebies Re-commissioned for 26 x 20 minute shows. Wrote 5 Episodes Royal Television Society Award for Best Children’s Programme, Mr Blooms Nursery 2010 Mr Blooms Nursery – Television After successfully pitching his idea to the BBC (based on his show ‘The Vegetable Nannies’), Mr Blooms Nursery is commissioned for CBeebies as a 26 x 20 minute live action show for audiences of 2 – 6 years. Wrote 6 episodes. 2009 The Trolls Kitchen –Lakesalive/Plunge Bloom A highly interactive outdoor performance where public are invited to help cook a meal for a hungry local Troll. 2008 The Endurance – Royal Exchange Manchester A one man show written with Al Seed. A darkly comic story of Polar Explorers and seasoned vaudeville entertainers. The Trampoline Orchestra – Nuffield Theatre and Arches Theatre A fictional orchestra put on a pseudo recital of songs from across the ages that use Musical trampolines. 2007 Come Forth People of the City, Under the Cover of Night – Manchester International Festival and Pandemonium Wrote (with Jonathan McGrath) this site specific performance at Manchester Town Hall. A promenading performance that included sit down dining, choral song and dance inspired by local history. 2006 Plunge Boom Set up Plunge Boom, a small-scale outdoor theatre company as a vehicle to develop shows that were driven by on audience interaction. Wrote and toured  The Vegetable Nannies, the Microscopic Animal Enthusiasts & the Siamese Scientists. BBC RAW (Reading and Writing Programme) BBC project aimed at encouraging parents to read more to their children.
