Stacia Brown grew up in Asheville, North Carolina. She earned graduate degrees in religion and historical theology from Emory University in Atlanta. A historian by training, she was a Woodruff Fellow at the Candler School of Theology, a W.M. Keck Foundation Fellow at the Huntington Library, and a Fellow of the Hambidge Center. Before moving to Atlanta, Stacia worked as a swing-shift monitor for a 250-bed homeless shelter in San Francisco. She lives and works in Decatur, Georgia.
Her first novel, The Glovemaker, will be released in February 2012, published by Arrow. In the US, it will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, under the title Accidents of Providence.
