Jackie started writing after her son asked a question about writing a will. This led her to collaborate with Dougal Trump on his series of books for boys, the first of which, I'm Dougal Trump...And it's Not My Fault!, was published by Macmillan in July 2012. I'm Dougal Trump... Where's My Tarantula? will be out in April 2013.

Jackie lives in North West London with her husband, two teenagers, and a her ex-trainee guide dog.
