Liz Pichon studied graphic design at Camberwell School of Art in London. She then joined the music industry as an Art Director for Jive Records.
Liz went freelance to develop her own illustration and design work, which has since been used on a wide variety of products. Her distinctive style can be seen on anything from beach towels and fabric to calendars, mugs and greeting cards.
Liz’s first illustrated book (Twilight Rhymes Moonlight Verse) won a National Parent award in the USA and encouraged her to write her own stories. Liz has since won a Smarties Silver award for My Big Brother Boris and in 2008 The Three Horrid Little Pigs And The Big Friendly Wolf was shortlisted for both The Red House Book Award and The Stockport Book Awards.
She is now also writing fiction for older children. The Brilliant World of Tom Gates was published by Scholastic in April 2011 and won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. Its sequel Excellent Excuses (And Other Good Stuff) was published in September 2011, and Everything's Amazing in March 2012.
Liz lives with her husband and three children in Brighton.
