Josa Young was born in Kent, surrounded by cherries and hops, and left to run wild in the countryside for the first seven years of her life. Ten years of single-sex boarding school followed, where she wore two pairs of knickers every day and suddenly found she could read after all.

At Newnham College, Cambridge, she studied English. In her last year, she was a finalist in the Vogue Talent Contest and went to work for Vogue magazine, initially in the book department, spending happy dusty hours in the Vogue House library. A career in glossy magazines and broadsheet newspapers followed. She has written and edited for the Telegraph and The Times, Country Living, SHE, Tatler and Harpers, among many other publications.

She blogs for the Huffington Post. Her debut novel, One Apple Tasted, was published in 2009 by E&T Books.  You can visit the website at: www.oneappletasted.co.uk

An early adopter, she specified her first website in 1995. Since then she has edited, designed, redesigned and launched websites for companies such as CondeNetUK, AOL UK and Ivillage.co.uk.  Through her internet content consultancy, she has designed and built websites, specialising in literary projects such as www.simongray.org.uk and www.standpointmag.co.uk.

She is married to Thoby Kennet, they have three children and live in West London.
