Ira Levin was born and lived in New York City. He wrote several novels, among them A KISS BEFORE DYING, THE STEPFORD WIVES, THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL and SON OF ROSEMARY, all of which have been international bestsellers.
He also wrote to longest-running thriller in Broadway history, DEATHTRAP, and the lyrics of the Barbara Streisand classic, "He Touched Me".
A two-time winner of the Edgar Allen Poe Award, he also received the Horror Writers' Association's Bram Stoker Award for lifetime achievement.
He died in November 2007.
