Anthony Doerr is the author of three books, The Shell Collector, About Grace, and Four Seasons in Rome. His fourth book, a collection of five stories about memory titled Memory Wall will be published in the UK by HarperCollins later this year.
Doerr’s short fiction has won three O.Henry Prizes and has been anthologized in, amongst other, The Best American Short Stories, The Scribner Anthology of Contemporary Fiction, the Paris Review and the Atlantic Monthly. He books have won numerous prizes and accolades, including being named a New York Times Notable Book and a ‘Book of the Year’ in the Washington Post, and shortlisted for the PEN USA fiction award. Doerr received the Hodder Fellowship at Princeton University in 2003 and in 2007, Granta placed Doerr on its list of 21 Best Young American Novelists.
Doerr lives in Boise, Idaho with his wife and two sons. He currently teaches at Warren Wilson College. His book reviews have appeared in the New York Times and Der Spiegel, and he writes a regular column on science books for the Boston Globe. Since 2007, he has been the Writer in Residence for the State of Idaho.
