Kady MacDonald Denton is one of Canada's foremost illustrators and winner of the esteemed Governor General's Literary Award for Illustration.
Kady graduated from the University of Toronto (Hons. Fine Arts) and studied at the University of Toronto's School of Architecture. For a time she worked as a city planner and also as a stage and costume designer in Toronto. A move to Brandon, Manitoba, and a sabbatical in London where she studied at the Chelsea School of Art, were instrumental in changing the focus of her art to writing and illustrating picture books.
Kady has created several books for children, including the prize-winning A Child's Treasury Of Nursey Rhymes. This won the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Award for best Canadian picture book, the Amelia Frances Howard Gibbon Illustration Award and the Governor General's Literary Award.
She has recently illustrated the hugely popular Bear and Mouse books Bedtime for Bear, A Visitor for Bear, and The Sniffles for Bear for Candlewick.
Kady lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband.
