Sue Reid began writing stories when she was a child but it was not until she was grown up and had tried several other careers, including a long spell at the BBC, that she decided to get published. Her first stories were written for BBC Schools Radio. This led to a commission to write a My Story for Scholastic’s new historical series. Mill Girl was published in 2002. Since then she has published many more titles for the series, including War Nurse and Pompeii, in addition to a picture book, the Voyages of Odysseus, for Salariya Books.
Her first historical novel for teens, Langdown Manor, was published by Scholastic in 2012, followed by WWII romance By My Side.
