Jason Burke

Jason Burke is a journalist and author. He has been a staff foreign correspondent for the Guardian and the Observer for nearly twenty years. He has lived and worked in the Middle East, South Asia, Europe and Africa.

​Much of his reporting has focused on conflicts, and particularly Islamic militancy. ​

His books include Al-QaedaOn the Road to Kandahar, and The 9/11 Wars. His most recent work is The New Threat from Islamic Militancy (Bodley Head, 2015), which was shortlisted for the 2016 Orwell Prize.
