Jason Burke is a journalist and author. He has been a staff foreign correspondent for the Guardian and the Observer for nearly twenty years. He has lived and worked in the Middle East, South Asia, Europe and Africa.
Much of his reporting has focused on conflicts, and particularly Islamic militancy.
His books include Al-Qaeda, On the Road to Kandahar, and The 9/11 Wars. His most recent work is The New Threat from Islamic Militancy (Bodley Head, 2015), which was shortlisted for the 2016 Orwell Prize.
